Our secondary debate society has made history by winning the National Schools Ethics and Leadership Debate Championship. Competing against 40 top-tier schools, Bugembe Islamic Institute stood out for its eloquent arguments, critical analysis, and poised public speaking.
The final debate, centered around the ethical use of artificial intelligence in education, was resolved in favor of Bugembe, who defended the negative stance. Our lead debater, Fatima Nabakooza, was awarded the National Best Speaker prize.
Fatima remarked: 'Our training at the institute teaches us to analyze complex societal problems through a lens of both scientific realism and moral responsibility. That framework gave us a winning edge.'
We congratulate the debate coach and the entire student delegation. You have raised the institute's flag high!
